- Exciting Opportunity for Registered ODP (Band 5) - In the Birmingham Area
MedicsPro are seeking experienced ODP's - Band 5 with recent NHS experience, who are looking for flexible extra shifts or full-time agency work within the Birmingham Area.This opportunity is to cover Monday - Sunday, day shifts, during the hours of 8am-8pm. Various Working Shifts Available.
Key Responsibilities:
*Prepare instruments and set up surgical equipment to ensure a sterile and efficient environment.
*Assist in positioning, preparing, and draping patients according to surgical procedures.
*Support the surgical team by scrubbing in for surgery and anticipating the surgeon's needs for equipment and instruments.
*Label and document medications and other items used in the operating room accurately.
*Monitor and record the patient's respiratory and cardiovascular signs throughout the procedure.
*Communicate effectively with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure smooth and successful operations.
*Consider potential complications and develop a plan of action for any necessary lifesaving measures.
*Maintain strict hygiene standards, including washing hands and arms with surgical soap before and after procedures.
