- MedicsPro is currently recruiting skilled RCN Nurses with recent hospital experience for both full-time agency work and extra shifts at Gloucester & Cheltenham Paediatric Day Units.
This opportunity is for a 6 month contract. Covering 2-3 long days between Monday - Friday. Working 34.5hrs a week (07:00-19:30)
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting Physical Assessments: Evaluating the health of children by checking vital signs, conducting physical exams, and assessing their overall condition
* Administering Medications and Vaccinations: Ensuring children receive the correct medications and vaccinations according to their treatment plans
* Providing Care for Acute and Chronic Illnesses: Managing and treating a range of illnesses, from common colds to chronic conditions like asthma or diabetes
* Supporting Families: Offering emotional support and education to families, helping them understand their child's condition and treatment options
* Monitoring Progress: Keeping track of a child's progress and adjusting care plans as necessary
* Emergency Response: Responding to emergencies and providing critical care when needed
* Advocacy and Education: Educating families about disease prevention, health promotion, and advocating for the child's needs within the healthcare system
* Collaborating with Healthcare Teams: Working with doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care

- * Surgical experience * Experience in medical investigations * Venepunture and cannulation would be highly desirable * At least 12 months of relevant UK experience in an NHS hospital setting on a paediatric ward
