- MedicsPro are seeking experienced vaccination Nurses, who ensure safe, effective delivery of immunisation programmes through expert clinical practice, patient education, and adherence to public health standards. The role combines hands on clinical skills with communication, organisation, and a strong commitment to population health.
The role is based in various settings & locations across the UK.
Various shifts available. Minimum of 4.5hrs a day- Monday -Sunday- Day shifts
Key Responsibilities:
* Administer vaccines safely and competently across all age groups, following clinical protocols and PGDs/PSDs
* Assess patient suitability by reviewing medical history, identifying contraindications, and deciding whether to vaccinate, defer, or refer
* Provide patient education, explaining vaccine benefits, side effects, and after care, and addressing concerns with empathy
* Monitor for adverse reactions, including recognising and responding to anaphylaxis and other emergencies
* Maintain accurate records, including electronic documentation, consent, and reporting to national systems
* Ensure cold chain compliance, including correct storage, handling, temperature monitoring, and reporting cold chain incidents
* Support vaccination clinics, including planning, set up, stock management, and ensuring safe environments
* Participate in public health programmes, such as school immunisation services, staff flu campaigns, and maternal vaccination initiatives
* Contribute to training, supporting education of other immunisers and participating in clinical supervision
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, public health services, maternity teams, and community partners
